Have you contacted the supplier of the update?

 

so it’s a 64 plate R line, yea I contacted the company many times with what’s happened,they sent another activation SD card thinking it may be faulty but still didn’t activate with the instructions given??

 

Did you check to be sure you have the latest firmware available installed prior to updating the Sat/NAV?

 

yes it has never been updated and was on old maps, the thing is the maps have updated but only stays on for 2-3 minutes which is what the instructions said it would do then goes to contact dealer message but don’t want to activate?
Is it worth trying from another supplier do you think?
VW are not use at all and expensive as we all know so don’t want to take it there

 

I found the instruction I was given with the Sat/NAV and activation SD cards. It is for my North America maps but I believe the update and activation process is the same for other regions despite the Sat/NAV region being different.
Give it a read and see if it correlates to the instructions you were given.

For info when I installed 2022 maps, at that time they needed version 0824.
Also a Vcds scan may be helpful if you have it.

The maps won't work without it.

What are VCDS?

 

It's diagnostic software. Don't worry about that for now. Did you check the firmware version?

 

Yes it was the old firmware,it’s the activation that’s now the problem
