Maybe someone haven't heard it - latest VCDS beta 11.8 has pretty detailed descriptions (labels) for T3 modules

For example, all DRL lights possibilities are fully described

Found a way to enable Aux.Heater in RCD-550.

0. Check if you have Eberspacher label between from and back door (what is the name for this place? central stand?). It's usually installed on TDI 240, 245hp, but not 204. The other way is to see if you have module 18 in VCDS

1. Get a fresh VCDS (10.6 and newer). Goto module 56-Radio, 07- Coding, Long Coding Helper and select byte 8 bit 6, then apply new coding. A new button in Climate menu would appear, but it still can't be pressed.

2. Goto module 08-AutoHVAC, Long Coding, select byte 1 bit 4. Restart the engine, now everything works.

Got the BT working today (thanks Gerry, I know that you're lurking on the forum!

The ringtone is the car is different from my phone and I looked everywhere on the phone and unit to see how to change it. Am I missing something?

jpm993, some Androids are unable to transfer melody. set Tel settings misc (in green menu) to 7 - you would have an option to change ring bells

you may also try to update the firmware of your phone.

Yet another happy 'Bluetooth enabled customer' - if any further confirmation is needed...it is possible to enable Bluetooth/Phone on the new Touareg with nothing more than a cable.

I didn't have to remove a fuse or leave the car overnight - simply performed the hard reset by pressing the buttons simultaneously, as detailed.

I've fguered out the following:

It's possible to enable the "Hybrid"-Screen in the RNS 850: Go to the Green Menu --> car/cardevicelist - selecting "Hybrid" and under car/carmenuoperation set the hybrid value to "5". After restarting the RNS 850 there will be an new entry under "Car" like this:

The battery charge won't work, but you can read the values from the boardcomputer like averagew consump, average speed and so on.

I also noticed, that the RNS will start every time with the hybrid screen and it seems the average values "from start" "from last tankstopp" are resetet by activating this screen.

I have a Touareg with a premium GSM package and I saw it is possible to activate Wifi/hospot access via that.
Is it possible ? Or do I need some other HW.

I am still about to buy VCDS so I am looking for some nice features to activate.

hi,

it's not possible to use the wlan-function in a usefull way. No way to connect your smartphone or pc in a permanent way. its only possible when the green menue is activated. If you restart the rns; the connection is lost. I think it will be for further generations. Actually the rns is the mmi3g system of Audi. there are many undescribed functions.

Hi all, I just got my VCDS cable and have enabled bluetooth on my 11 plate T3, I just wanted to check 1 thing, the instructions said to go from 'AUX/no AMI BT/AMI' to 'AUX/AMI BT/AMI', but my car was defaulted to 'no AUX/no AMI BT/AMI', I have set to 'AUX/AMI BT/AMI' and then rest of the procedure worked as described and BT is working

I was just wondering what the no AUX/AUX part actually refers to, does anyone know?

edit: ok, I think I figured it out, I guess some cars are equipped with a separate AUX, as opposed to the AMI to line in cable.

ps. BT phone is working fine, although my phone button on the steering wheel doesn't actually appear to do anything

Just a single VCDS section is needed as long as, like you, we can see what vehicle you have in your signature. Some commands and procedures are the same so we could have duplication.

Normally you would start a new topic in the electronics section. But I was suggesting it might be prudent to start a new general topic or section. The T3 section is a bit of an oddity as it was originally a discussion about the new model but has become a general posting area for T3 stuff so we have ended up with a hybrid of forums some model specific and some general..

Hmmm, no I haven't tried using it to end a call, I did try using it to answer a call, but it did nothing, I had to use the OK button on the other side of the steering wheel to accept the call.

Next time I take a call in the car, I'll try ending it with the phone button and let you know.

"Daytime Running Lights inactive with Turn Signal ("Winking") active",
Exit the coding helper and click Do It.
