So I'm now looking into my next project which involves removing the rear seats and fitting some hexa grip shaped to fit and pick up the seat fixings to hold it down. I can then bolt lashing rail to the board and use this to secure the kit that we normally put on the seats.
But for this trip I am taking a full spare wheel and a second fridge so it makes sense to build a proper platform and at the same time save the weight of the rear seats.
The challenge is the rear seat airbags . I will need to fit resistors to the plugs for the duration of the trip. Has anyone tried this? early investigations suggest a 4.7ohm resistor for seat airbags so Ill have to experiment with this and see how it goes before I commit to the seat removal plan.
