Xenon/ Headlight Prob?

2926 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Dubya
Had a warning message that came up. check headlights. Which I have & they are all working.

The only thing I noticed was that one of the Xenons flickered slightly - is this an early stage of failure or do they just pop?

Anyone had this warning? or a headlight problem?

thx

Yip had that warning a couple of times then the ignitor thingy of one of the xenon gave up the ghost.

I haven't got the xenon lights but had a dash warning about "check lights" about 3 weeks into ownership...went round the front and noticed the N/S headlight was out...and the technical adjustment I tried (thump) didn't fix it.

"Oh bugg*r" I thought...and as it was late decided to fix matters the next day. The next day came & the light was working again and has done for the subsequent 2 months...(I'm tempting fate now, I know).

At least I didn't have to try & follow the headlight removal instructions from the handbook!

That's what I thought too...done just over 3,500 miles now. At this rate it should be another 12 months before it goes in

Judging the rest of the time scales allocated to the treg problems

I would try and sort it before the put a timescale on it

just had one of mine done

Garage told me it could have £90 ouch

Just had both Xenon bulbs changed & it seems to have cured the flicker.
There is a VW dealer bulletin about this problem apparently.
