My vehicle is very up and down on long hauls I can get into the 30/33 mpg mark but just running around less, what really kills it is those long queues in the Blackwall tunnel to work.
Ah well....

I got 29mpg today on the M6!! best so far for us

Karen
I got that down the A34 on Monday in my V8....!!!!!!!! However I was slipstreaming a very nice man in a lorry from Polski..... Amazing how the fuel consuption drops without wind in your face....

I was running low, and no way was I gonna pay 106+ per litre... Made it accross the 272 and filled up for 102.... Man I'm so cheap...

Maybe I wouldn't have been running so low if I'd have been driving more conservatively over Winchester hill on thejourney up....

My god I LOVE my car..... Love it, love it, love it, LOVE IT.....!!!

.... MY V10 RETURNS ON AVERAGE 17 - 18 MPG. QUITE A BIT OF STOP START ON MY COMMUTE WHICH KILLS THE ECONOMY. BEST I HAVE HAD WAS A RUN UP TO STIRLING AND BACK 472 MILE ROUND TRIP 5 UP WITH BOOT FULL OF LUGGAGE, NEVER EXCEEDED 80MPH, RETURNED 24.7MPG ON THE TRIP COMPUTER. JUST LOOKED AT THE LONG TERM AVERAGE MPG WHICH IS SHOWING 7800 MILES AT AN AVG 18.6 MPG. I CANT SEE THE POINT OF DRIVING THE V10 TO TRY AND ACHIEVE MAXIMUM ECONOMY AS THIS KIND OF DEFEATS THE OBJECT OF HAVING THAT V10 UNDER THE LID. IT WOULD KILL THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE FOR ME !!

I did a route on Boxing Day that I used to do in my TVR Tuscan, I leave the Walsall area, M6> M54, A5 to Capel Curig in Snowdonia, then down to Porthmadog, then home via A487 to A4212 to Bala and then back on the A5 to M54>M6 home. I absolutley flew along the A4212 (listed on a website as one of the UK's best driving roads) and overall got 26MPG.

I watched the figure drop from 28-29 down to 26 after really having some fun for 21 miles along the A4212, it's too good to resist. The road is a favourite with bikers and sports stuff as it's like a roller coaster with NO cameras and the best views in Wales.

My motor is re mapped to 360bhp and 866Nm.

Very happy bunny today - I've just had to fill up, but only after squeezing 463 miles out of a tankful. Makes a big difference without the school run to do over Easter. Had a few longer trips, too but not in any great hurry.

Have also just fitted a bike rack to the roof bars so a couple of trips with my manky old mountain bike strapped on the roof.

After 89 litres it works out at 23.6mpg or 11.9 l/100km overall. MFA stated 23.8mpg.

colleague at work struggles to achieve that with his 2.0l petrol ford focus.

After reading all this threads, makes me wonder why the hell didn't I get the V10! My average consumpsion is about 33-35mpg, just a bit less than the V10.

Short runs are the bug bear, but on a cold morning run to the gym (say 2miles through town) my V10 would be 15 mpg, whereas the T3 is low 20s and is nearly up to temperature. On the way back it is markedly better. Up to Lancashire and Yorkshire a few weekends ago, I got 38 mpg, and I was doing 80 on the motorways where poss. For a 2 tonne vehicle I think that is pretty good.
