Just done my first decent run. Got 31.9 over 220 (kent to southampton and back). To be fair was stuck in traffic both ways, so i need a real clear run to confirm. At xmas i have a run from kent to inverness. Should sort the men from the boys !

On a 300 mile round trip from South Wales to Heathrow and back last weekend, the treg returned the following MPG: -

cruising at 65 nearly all the way, at the half way point it was reading 35.5 mpg.

After collcting wife, child and a suitcase....and probably battling a headwind, by the time I was back home the overall round trip average had dropped to 32.5 mpg.....Still not bad, me thinks.

My long term average over 10K is reading 29.7, but this has been after some trips towing a caravan as well.

Just did my first decent trip - S. M/C - Gloucester - Bracknell - Harpenden - Derby - S M/C

About 500 miles with all ranges of traffic and I got around 27.5 for 2.5 auto.
Looks like the current range for a full tank is around 600 - 650 miles which is in the mpg range of 27-29 as well.
At current diesel prices that's around 16 / 17p per mile.

I don't do vast amounts of miles but driving to local shops,stop/start I get 25.
On a run with a mixture of stop/start/motorway,carriageway ,over say 400 miles ,I average 32.
I'm never really in too much of a hurry.
2.5 tdi auto

Had the car 15 months now so this is probably how it is for me.

Had ours since april and done 10,000, average is 29.7 according to the dashboard computer, a mixture of wife driving (slowly) and me driving with a heavier foot and 50/50 countryside and motorway for the daily work run (70 mile round trip).

My Astra VXR averages 32 mpg on similar routes and I dont drive it slowly
