As discussed here;

http://www.mytouaregforum.com/forums/index...?showtopic=2873

We picked up the Treg last Wednesday and then drove straight up to Norfolk for a few days. Really impressed with the car. The boot swallowed all our gear really easily with loads of room to spare. The satnav actually worked really well apart from trying to send us through the Blackwall Tunnel instead of the Dartford Tunnel but that was only because the previous owner had stipulated 'no tolls' in the settings.

It was really comfortable and pleasingly swift and the fuel consumption was really good (ok, the last bit is a lie but it was no worse than I was expecting).

It might sound daft but it took me a while to work out why the car looked different from other Touaregs I've seen - it's been de-chromed or not chromed, whichever way round it is.

The main thing missing from its spec is parking sensors which at first I didn't think were necessary but after trying to reverse in Waitrose's car park this evening with dirty mirrors, a dirty rear screen and the sun behind me I'm glad we're having sensors fitted next week.

All in all it's a great car. Shame it's actually the wife's car although I think she may find she'll be driving my TT quite a bit in future.

Sounds like you have the best of both worlds here. Great 1st car AND a great 2nd car  .

Again welcome to the forum and enjoy the new car.

Any chance we can see some pictures?

Cheers,
Rob

I took some photos when we arrived in Norfolk when the car was still reasonably clean but I just need to resize them before posting them so I will have a go at that tomorrow and post them asap.

I suppose I am rather spoilt for choice at the moment although the TT isn't going to get much use for a few days.

The boot is very big

However, when I take the dogs out I tend to use the Passat or the Astra as the dogs don,t like the jumping up to the Treg

My thoughts only

Get a step ladder for them
or these metal plates they use supply with the goofy LR's.

I agree the jump is just too high and the Passat is far more suitable for that.

Cheers,
Rob

PS: we are moving away from the original topic though.

Actually my in-laws have got a place at Ingham, just outside Stalham. The weather was pretty dire last weekend but that just meant that we spent more time in the Treg.

Here are a couple of photos - it's not as clean any more.

I was a little scared at first when you mentioned no chrome but it actually looks quite OK  .

You know what they say about gloomy days ... .they do give you the best light for perfect pictures.

Remember, No Chrome means the optional Chrome Pack wasn't ordered at the time of purchase, not that the car was dechromed. It depends on the colour IMO, but I think the black ones look good without the chrome. My grey, on the other hand, could definitely use some - which is why I did the chrome grille slats thing. To retrofit the chrome trim to the side of the car is a job just not worth doing
