Why water run down your neck when opening the boot on a rainy day.

the seal of the glass lit in area A should be sitting above /on top of the main boot lit as shown in 2nd picture and not kinked in under neath the edge

That is the correct posision how the seal should be placed on top of the edge so that water runs of in the proper drain away chanels

When the seal is twisted in like in picture 1, it some times make this foam which show that water is running underneath the seal. And when opening the boot lit the will drip from under the corner of the seal even though the seal is placed correctly in the corners.
Just lift the seal out so it sits on top as shown in 1rst and 2nd picture

Hope this help

Been to garage with same problem. Turns out that picture 1 is the correct position for the seal. There is a sort of channel at the edge of the seal, and when the boot is closed water runs down this channel. Tech admits its a poor design, and interestingly the 56 reg treg he was demonstrating to me had these channels folded on top as in picture 2. It is just a matter of pushing the edge of the seal so it sits under.
