My VW UA warranty ends in December s beginning to think about potential options.

Called Warranty Wise, my Treg has 80k, they quoted me £3400 for 2 years cover, which IMHO is crazy money.

I know this is a very old question - how does the VW extended warranty or simlar from VW come in cost wise, and is it worth it?

Thanks

From memory the costs are based on a full service record being kept - go ask them and see what they're offering. £3400 is crazy right enough! I think you'll be looking around 1/10th of the cost/year or thereabouts. Keep us posted and if there are restrictions on vehicles over 10 years old... ;)

Younger car by 2 years and only 16k on the clock but I paid recently £814 for a years all component, zero excess VW extended warranty.

Have you had to use them and if so, how did you get on?
Three times, once for sunroof leak which is when it became clear it wasn’t covered. Once for a headlamp washer leak, minor issue as they said initially it wasn’t covered because it isn’t electrical but coughed in the end as the whole washer mechanism was at fault not the pipe work, once for a TPMS failure where they didn’t even question it as it was electrical

Worth looking at Allianz for extended warranties.
Absolutely! They underwrite the VW policy and are cheaper if you go direct. As noted in my recent quandary about warranty, they however do not cover LED lamps. This was my deciding factor to not go with them as I have matrix LED headlights. To not have those stupidly expensive buggers covered would be madness. This was the only difference I could find between the VW and Allianz policies.
My family's medical insurance is with Allianz (via the company I work for) and they are a pleasure to deal with ..

I have my VW Extended Warranty with Allianz - you can get a quote online easy enough but the premium does go up exponentially after 60k miles. There are various levels of cover and excess options to adjust the level of cover and the annual premium.
