oK ALL, AS PROMISED AN UPDATE ON MY TYRE ISSUE.

Apparantly the Geometry settings have no effect on adverse tyre wear, it is my driving style!! (bearing in mind that car has covered 600 miles). This is what a VW ENGINEER at Hq has told Lux Support (no wonder they have problems huh, )They have no intention of changing the said tyres. I will collect my car tomorrow from dealers armed with my camera and a digital caliper. I intend to take photographs of my tyres (along with tread depths) and also photos of a new not been on the road set. I am told by Rebecca at Lux support that feathering at the edges is quite normal. I dispute this. I am awaiting a call from the Lux Manager tomorrow at 10am we shall see what happens next. Do you think the bit of string they use for alignment might have stretched

I HEREBY DECLARE WAR ON VW THE GLOVES ARE OFF!!!

Sent off photos of tyres via email at VW request. They will take a look and get back to me , luckily the retailer who did alignment (Lindvale Romford) has already told VW they feel 'Uncomfortable' with VW's response THANK YOU LINDVALE!! (esp Julie Boyce for her caring attitude)

If that is so, why does VW pay for 3 hours (per Treg) for a full geometry check when you report tyre wear?

The Engineer must be a CHIMP!

Any chance of posting some pics of tyre wear???

I don't even think I'd know what tyre wear would look like... My Disco did 38K on original tyres and I'm only asking out of curiosity.

I have no problems at all with my new toy or its tyres - it's just fantastic!!! (apart from the waste-of-space DVD Sat Nav
ok, off topic!)

We had severe Tyre wear at 3,000 took it up with dealer,Smith Knight Fay, Bolton and after not too much hassle (although they did put up a bit of a fight) They agreed to make a ?600 contribution towards tyres. Managed to get a good deal at Kwik fit of ?700 for a full set so we did OK out it really. They were still adamant that there was no problem with wear and they paid as a good will gesture

Lisb,

They should have covered it 100% - its a known issue with Touaregs (well it was anyway) and the dealer should work for you and get it paid for by VW
