Called by SWMBO this morning saying Treg wouldn't start, dead as a dodo.
Called VW assist, came and jump started it, couldn't find anything wrong, Voltmeter showing 14 volts etc etc. Looks like it might be a dropped cell in the battery so have to book it in for Treg Tech to have a look. Anybody had any luck claiming battery under warranty?? If not how much are they, remember reading somewhere on forum they are a special type??

Hi There,

I would say that if the vehicle is still under the manufacturers warranty ie 3 years then I would say they pay!

They may try and riggle out of it, but a battery should last that time anyway.

Good luck

Defintitely a warranty job, however the garage will need to keep yor car to drain the battery, then charge it to see if any drops show in the battery.

Had a battery and alternator replaced due to the same reasons. Think you need to get booked in at a reliable treg garage.

best of luck.

yep will be required to ensure the vehicle has no drains and the battery can hold charge .There are a few known concerns with items running the batteries down ,some of the software mods on the 90d7 rework address these eg back door control module updates and the DVD type radio also has a update ,buttons on the rear tail gate glass has been known to cause this as has the keyless enrty buttons on the doors and also as stated a bad cell in the battery good luck hope all is sorted soon 8)
