Dear All

As promised, my car the V6 TDI was build in week 22.
This car has now arrived in Denmark as the first, yeehooo.
Today it has been transported to the company who will cut out the backseat etc.
The countdown has started, they are talking about 8 working days...
What is 8 days after 28 weeks of waiting...

Greetings

Yes Fiona, there will be pictures imidiatly, I will leave that "department" to my wife "the photoexpert"

But now I am facing problem nr 2. When I ordered the treg "the room" was split into two compartments: one for our Beauceron dog, and one for what You call "crap" (which we men call: beer, tools, fishing equipment, beer, dirty magazines, paint...did I menthion beer ?)

My new problem is that during this long waiting time, my wife has ordered a new dog, which hopefully will be born tomorrow on the 22. This means I have to find a solution for that problem within 8 weeks...what a life

Finally i picked up my treg yesterday...but but

It was a sad sight. The car was filled up in the rear with the backseats that was taken out, mixed with the wintertyres I had ordered, the roofrack was also there in a cardboardbox, no dogfence as ordered 8 months ago, the windows was not tinted as ordered, no mat as ordered, no instructionbook, in the middle a little bag with "a thing" that looked like an "airgun" for a tire, but where is the rest ??, I could find "the tire gel" but no compressor, "somebody" has been "borrowing"things, just one big mess.

So that was what I have been waiting for, for more than eight months. It takes a lot to "wind me up", but that was it, I went completely ballistic.

I called the Bankcompany, who has paid for it, and explained the situation, since the VW dealer seemed to be, what shall I say: "Not my table Sir", since the responsable person for that dept got fired a week ago.

The Bankcompany called me today, and said, "go to the VW dealer tomorrow, they will give You a car for 2 hours, then You will return and everything will be in perfect order. If You are not exploding of happiness at 2 o'clock tomorrow, dial my number, and hand over your mobile phone to the salesperson in charge, and I will confirm to him what i told them yesterday: You will loose the annual sale of 800 cars to this company.

It appears that the guy was kicked out of that company since this has happened several times before.

Having said all that, when I came home I emptied the car for all the items, and went for a drive or shall I say cruise on the small roads here on the countryside, it was nice. Having read all the comments about the V6 tdi, my expectations was, I admit quite high, but in that respect I was not dissapointed. It is very pleasant to drive, quiet, easy, fast. Having only done 173 miles equal to 278 km I am very pleased.

The pics will come after tomorrow.

Best regards

Well Viking, it can only get better then....

At least you now have the beast!

Good luck!
Hi Viking, it seems to be working out for you albeit slowly. I noted on your signature you mentioned VDO Dayton sat/nav I was under the impression all Tregs have Blaupunkt, have you had the VDO system fitted as an alternative system if you have I would love to hear/see how this was done. Happy Tregging.

Hello Pilgrim

My VDO unit is about 4 years old, I had in my Renault and my Passat. I will place photos of it on this thread, bearing in mind, that many people thinks (and for perhaps a good reason) it is technology of yesteryear, but it works. I could easily afford to apply the original "things", but what do I read in other forums..it does'nt work and allsorts of negative things. This system has worked perfect for me since day number one, and I have in my job, to drive late at night in countries like f.ex Norway in wintertime, on black ice, 2,5 metres of snow walls (multiply by 0,3 to get foot) etc etc.

I have seen collegues in my company (superbig) buying "the new stuff" where you download maps from the internet, and it works, no doubt about that. But sometime it doesnt work. I have every country on a seperate disc, and it has worked for me, factories (which I visit) doesnt move, hotels doesnt move.

I might be a bit oldfashioned, a bit "tight", but I do not see any reason to change to "the newest" technology just because its new. Example: The mobile phone in the new treg, I have a bluetooth installation (since that is new) but I also have the traditional one as I have had for many years. I dont know what to do with the bluetooth, but the phoneman said it would be useful.

Wait for the pics.

Best regards

Viking,

Quite right my philosophy exactly.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Ahh! I now understand, it is always a good idea to keep systems that work.
I thought it may have been a different system and therefore I would ask the question.

Hello Viking,

Glad you got the Treg sorry to hear about the problems but I am sure everything will be resolved. What about some pics.

I was noticing on my travels a couple of weeks ago a few 4x4 and MPV that have obviously been changed in the same way yours have but what I also noticed was the roofs at the back seemed to be more domed ????? why is that.

more headroom....??

adapted for disabled passengers to use while still seated in wheelchair?

??
Hi all

Everything worked out perfect today, with one hour delay. The only exception is the "dogfence" which shall be situated where the back of the rearseat normally is. It will arrive next week.

The managing director gave me an apology and a couple of "Cotes du Rhone" bottles and 2 litres of the "expensive oil". So..I am happy now. Now it is the car I ordered almost 9 months ago.

Initial pics are taken, my wife is sizing them down, I have downloaded Photobucket, so if everything goes well pics will come later tonight. That is if I can understand photobucket.

Regards

Viking
