I think I've found a new fault/problem. Noticed a ?paint chip at the rear of the car. I thought a funny place to have a paint chip. On closer investigation I noticed that the driver's side rear strut for the rear hatch appear to have a cable which was rubbing the bodywork everytime I opened the rear hatch. Anyway reported it to the dealers. Told that a plastic cover which keeps the cable flush was missing. Hopefully they'll be able to slide another one in. Otherwise it means stripping the rear roof etc

Also had a brake fluid change, getting worried now, treg has done 41,000mls and still on it's original brake pads. Quoted ?215 for front pads when the time comes.

Did you ever fix this? Just noticed a small paint chip ans developing rust spot as the drivers side boot hinge is rubbing everytime it's opened. Passenger side has about 5mm clearance.

This thread is over15 years old and Staffs (who owned one of the very rare manuals) moved on a long, long time ago!
