Splicing off high beam

Evening folks,

I am in the process of fitting some auxiliary driving lights to be switched from the high beam.

Following some info from Mike Read here:

Touareg Light Bar Install
Very cool! Adding more lighting will be one of the first mods I do when my TDI arrives next week. Thanks for all the info

I located what I presumed to be the high beam sender wire.

However upon doing a quick test connect, using the wire mentioned in the thread above leads to the new lights to be on all the time, even with the engine off. They arent fired from the high beams.

I will attach photos of the wire I connected to.

Today I attempted to find out which wire going into the plug on the headlight itself signals the high beam by checking voltages on all pins with high beam off then with it on, but found no fluctuations in the voltages.
I have included a photo of these wires incase someone is able to identify the correct one.

Does anyone have a bit more info on how I can tap into the high beam switched circuit to activate a new relay to power the new lights?

2007 3.0 TDI with xenons.

Many thanks in advance

Chris
