Seats Wearing

Are anyone else's leather seats wearing at the point they meet with the plastic surround, mine are, all the edge trim has worn through rubbing on the plastic, not good considering only 19000 miles. Has anyone had the seats replaced on warranty, stealer was going to look into this for me!

Sounds unusual and may be that the leather is a bad batch. I thought of leather wear and wanted to exchange seat bases with the passenger but can't. Thanks to this forum discovered there is a patch of cloth against the centre console to stop it creaking.

I have had a seat fabric replaced under warranty before (Audi) when the foam had worn through and the metal frame was just under the cloth. I was told that the previous owner was a 'big guy'. What they didn't say was he was either Mr G Haystacks or a member of the Golightly family.

It was an expereince mind you especially when the car returned under the cover of darkness and in daylight was a different shape to the passengers! A 'chat' with the area manager finally sorted it out.

In short - try for warranty............although I wonder if Mr Haystacks or Golightly are now driving Tregs.

I have a late 03 treg with beige cricket leather, I bought the vehicle at 18 months old from the main dealer with 26000 on the clock, the drivers seat was faded at the edge, the dealer "repaired" this by painting it somehow - lasted about a week, and now really not pretty with more miles on it. Tried the warranty angle and no go, other trim defects as wel.... Oh ! want a list of what can go wrong with a Treg ??, mine will beat most.
Thanks to the site I now see that I can get an upgrade on my wiper arms ( been in 5 times for attention - bloody dangerous - not just a nuisance)

xanders
my leather piping starting going after 3k and stealer said it is general wear and tear so not covered on the warranty oh year and also they said i wear the wrong kind of jeans

still makes me chuckle that one
The only problem I had with mine was the rear bottom bit

The stitchhing came undone, but they replaced ASAP

This is with the rear bottom panel lifted up, the stitching is in the bit where the seat belt would normally sit

That picture looks like one one of those 3D puzzles as I can't work out the placement of the headrests and the underside of the back seat base???

Hi Buster,

I had exactly the same problem with mine.

Couldn't be arsed to make a 30 mile trip back to the dealer so broke out the needle and thread.

While the Slovaks clearly make the best 4x4 on the market they still need to learn a thing or two about turning cows into seats

this was discussed sometime ago when Rich posted it originally. There are extra holes in the base of the rear seat to store your head rests - very neat
This stuff works in terms of making it look good to sell, im not sure how long it lasts before it wears off...

i know this is missing the point but...

What colour are all those that are wearing is it cream or beige? is there a difference between dark and light leather interiors?

Yep. Another
for liquid leather. Very useful on older cars where leather starts to wear and crack.
