Sat Nav Problem,

I have a 2005 2.5 TDI the sat nav is telling me that there is no navigation system recognised? plus the Disc will not Eject from the main head unit. I have tried turning the full system off and on again but it will not work. Pressing the Nav, Dest, Or Map buttons has no effect either. The Radio and CD still function as Normal.

Q 1 .... How can I get the disc out to clean it if that is what is needed?

Q 2 ..... is it buggered?

Q3 ...... What will the  stealer  Charge to repair ??????

Dunno sorry but as you say it seems it will be related to the disc.

Try having a look on www.vwnavi.com

HI,

Mine did exactly the same thing.
Kept saying "No navigation system recognised"
Dealer claimed to fix it with a software download but it still did the same thing.
Whole head unit was then replaced under G.

Mine did this but the disc I was using was a copy, I know you can not do this but I maanged to eject the disc and put the older teleatlas one back in.

This re-booted the unit and it works fine again

i have had issues with my nav cd recently - it seems to skip?

i was thinking of upgrading it as its 2003 (touareg is 04) but when i look online it seems the 09/10 disc will be out some time and i dont want to run the risk of paying for an upgrade that might not work.

i had looked to see if i could download one but so far the ones i have found boot and install ok but then i get an error message saying to put in a vw r2 disc.

does anyone have any suggestions or a disc i could try out?

thanks
