Hello everyone,

Today I've found this forum and it seems very very helpful. I was looking for a fix regarding the online traffic regarding my new car and this is how I got here...

I haven't made any updates to the maps that I have installed in the car and I was curious if I will be able to do any in the near future.

So, my first question is: what shall I have to do to get in the group of the people that will have access to the newly updated maps?

Is it too late to get in on this? I think my 2012 Touareg has version 5.13.8 which seems hideously old.

I did find Touareg News Forum , which enclose the 6.24.2 / V11 maps thread.

Did someone try to install the maps ? Do you have any feedback ?

I installed the V11 / 6.24.2 maps, the installation works like a charm.
Used "user define" mode and it takes appx. 70 min using a class 10 sd card.
The existing activation for former 6.23.2 maps working further, no needed new activation after installed the new maps.

Anyone know if maps V11 Nav. 6.24.2 are still the latest maps or have they been updated since last December ????

hi good people.. stupid question maybe.. but I am down in NZ.. do these same map files work for all world regions, or just Europe.. ie: would I need to somehow get hold of NZ/Australia maps.. or are the map files in the main V10/v11 update and I somehow need to just enable my region (from green menu perhaps)? ive done a bit of research but I cant see an answer to whether all the world regions are in the unit and you just need to select them somehow.. or if I need to blitz Europe maps and load NZ/Australia over the top if that makes sense? any help greatly appreciated

Hello,

just updated my RNS850, Touareg Navi with 0821 fw to 6.24.2 maps. Everything worked flawless. Activated in green menu, section SWDL the "User defined mode" and after inserting the SD card in slot 1, followed the steps indicated, selecting user defined mode and in section "VW ECE" selecting all the components but without bootloader. After 70-75min the update was finished.
I can confirm that there are updates comparing to 6.23.2 including in the new area in Romania where I leave where the streets got there names in 6.24.2.
Still Timisoara-Lugoj highway is missing and also no database for traffic signs in Eastern Europe (at least Romania). Waiting to promote to civilised countries with traffic sign recognition working

Existing "Keldo" type of activation (based on WLAN MAC) is still working, no activation requested after 6.24.2 update.

I did the update with Zerbino's version and there was no new activation required.
I would guess that if you get it from the same source as your 6.23 version then you should be OK.

Just to confirm.
Successfully updated from 6.23 to 6.24.2, and once again using "User defined". No new activiation needed.
Don´t see any difference, and my local street (new 2013) still isn´t there.

Hello, I am contacting you from Turkey. My car is a 2015 model Touraeg, I have an rns850 tape recorder in my car, but I get a warning that the navigation function is not supported. No sd card etc. How should I go about activating the navigation?
