Mine failed after a weekend of constant storm weather - certain the rain got in there.
RNS 850 sat nav problem
Just purchased my first Touareg, 2012 Altitude, I am having a problem with the sat nav system, when in use it is displaying the wrong location, but still calculating a route and giving information. It has even placed the car in the sea. I have manually enter my location, but quickly when driving looses the current location and selects another nearby, but continue to give directions. I have tried a factory system restore and the 5 button reset, still having the same issue. All other function with the unit seem OK. Anyone else experienced this?

SPOILER ALERT!! A RESET FIX THAT WORKS!! WITHOUT FITTING A NEW AERIAL...
I had exactly the same issue myself and it hadn't been near a car wash...
I went to the settings mode, went to DEMO MODE... placed the vehicle in my street, manually, and then went and reset SAT NAV to factory settings... Got out of car locked it, opened it... Got back in, turned it on again and vehicle now in correct position.
Driven over 1000 miles so far without fault.
And no new aerial... 😃😃
