Firstly appologies if this is posted in the wrong place but a quick question...

I need to do a "cold reset" on my Touareg as my "enginer tuner" cannot read/get the ECU to take to the computer (corrupted we think) is there an easy way of cutting all the power to the car other than removing the battery terminal?

I need to do this this and keep it disconnected for 1hr to do a "cold boot" sort of thing!

Any help would be appreciated.

The qiuckest and easyest way to cut the power is to disconnect the earth connection in the passenger foot well. Remove the cover infront of the passenger seat and then the little plastic cover on the right , right in front of the seat . Lift the carpet slightly up . You'll see the earth connection .
Im not sure if this would sort your problem. The comunication of the engine ECU could be well faster than your computer and there for could not make comunication .

But well worth a try

Good luck

Thanks for that, I actually managed to do it with the minimun of fuss! Passenger seat fully forward, took off airvent in rear passenger foot area, teased the plastic battery cover up and disconnected the Positive, quite easy!! Thanks all the same!
