Imagine my pleasure this evening walking out into the work car park only to see my rear view mirror hanging by various wires, detached from the windscreen!

Tried sticking it back but it's not having it, so currently sat here waiting for a nice VW Assistance man to come take a look!

Would normally have driven it home anyway, but since I can't disconnect the wires - and don't want it swinging around on the way home - I'll have to wait for someone else to fix it for me...!

Well, nice VW man (Doug) couldn't fix it back on, so I guess I have a choice of ranting to Autoglass (since they don't seem to have used any new adhesive last time) or taking it to a VW dealer in the morning. Probably the latter.

But it does make me all the more upset with Autoglass. In the process of fitting one windscreen they have:

1) scratched the bonnet
2) snapped my iPod holder (I superglued it back together)
3) bungled the rear mirror fixing

Bloody pathetic and I will be writing to their head office after I speak to the branch manager tomorrow....

Don't forget to inform the insurance company as well.

Well, a week on and still no progress. It's quite shocking that they think it's OK for me to be driving around with no rear-view mirror....

Apparently, they have to order a whole new windscreen as the adhesive will not re-stick now. But they only ordered the glass today, five days after I first reported the fault to them!

Bloody useless.

I would have thought it would be the rear view mirror that needed to be replaced since the adhesive is already on back of the mirror, the cleaning of the windscreen is no big deal....very puzzling??
