R5 diesel won't start

2005 R5 diesel.

I just changed the Gates coupling on the alternator, to do so I removed the inlet manifold and alternator.
It's reassembled but now the engine doesn't start.

The engine spins but it doesn't seem to be getting fuel.
Any ideas?

I've done this job several times and have never had this problem.

Any fault codes?

I haven't hooked up the VCDS yet, it was late when we finished.
I was just trying to see if anyone had any clues, I was stumped as to what could cause the problem.
Somebody on a facebook group said the crank position sensor was down there so it's highly likely that it has been disconnected.
There's a multi plug at the bulkhead end of the manifold which may be disconnected

Thanks, I'll check that too. I haven't been back into the engine yet, I'm still traumatised from doing the job and the engine not starting.

I can't see anything that looks like that.
I can' see the crank sensor with all the parts in place.
I can't find my bore scope.
I can't find my VAG COM.

It's one of those days.
