Power Loss - 2.5? Anyone else

Hi all

Over the last few weeks -and only when its well into the journey - I have noticed an increased reluctance when trying to increase the speed.

As an example last week - sitting at 50mph on the moterway and pushed the pedal to the floor - car dropped into 5th and then 4th - but took about 14 seconds to get to 60mph.

Car was recently in for warranty work and mentioned that I had noticed this - they of course check the computer and it showed clear - - of course - so before I go back to them I wanted to see if anyone else had ever had the same?

Thanks

shane,

intermittent faults are always the worst type to troubleshoot. One option is to firstly ask if you could talk to the Touareg tech directly about the problem - try to explain it directly to him and get his opinion. Then ask that when it happens next time, could you call him directly to try to troubleshoot the problem while the problem is actually happening. I did this exact thing with my RRS when the suspension started to squeek - didn't happen at the dealer as it was intermittent - so when it happened next time, called in and chatted to the tech engineer who asked me to do a few tests (basically push down on suspension with wheels turned left/right, suspension low and max etc etc) - result was he concluded some rubbers bushes needed re-oiling - was done the following Monday and its never done it since.

Worth a try

Mmmm. Couple of threads came up on a forum search, but this seems closest:

No definite solution though

Kaine... Call me stupid.... But aren't rubber bushes, (rubber of any kind) not supposed to require lubrication by oil...

Was my impression that oil deteriorates the structure of the rubber and helps it to perish... (Just look on the back of a condom packet
)

I could be completely wrong..... But thought I'd add my 2cents...

Hi - could be a loose or hole in one of the pipes (sorry don't know the exact correct item) something to do with air intake and the turbo.. picked mine up after and engine out they hadn't fitted this pipe correctly but basically no acceleration on motorways the turbo just didn't go (you would not here the whine) pedestrian like (even for a 2.5) performance computer showed clear... they reconnected this pipe and job done

The performance sounds like the car is running normally aspirated....

you can read that writing? far to small....silicone based or water based i thought was ok? squeaking suspension always reminds me of the old VW golf advert with the girls earing squeaking, Kaine sure its not your earings or something? (finally found an annoying clunk when going around righthand junctions it is my daughters Britax child seat, fortunately she has almost outgrown it so will be changing...)
