PCD Adapters
Has anyone got personal experience of using PCD adapter plates with a Touareg?
I ran a T1 SE for about 6 years before changing it for a T3 SE that I had for a similar period. I was very happy with the T3, however for some reason I’m not quite sure of I seem to have exchanged it for a T5 Rline.

A little background to explain why I am looking at PCD adapters. With my T3 I had 20inch wheels with my summer tyres and 17inch wheels with my winter tyres. When I took the winter wheels off the car in April this year the 17inch rims needed a little smartening up as the lacquer was showing signs of failing so I decided to have them refinished. The rims were acid dipped, polished and powder coated in gloss black by a local alloy wheel specialist. The tyres (Vredestein Wintrac Xtreme 235/65/R17 ) were refitted and the wheels rebalanced.

When I bought the Rline I was under the false impression that the newly finished winter wheels would fit right on, being at that time, totally oblivious to the change in wheel PCD that apparently happened in 2018.

I now have a set of expensively refurbished winter wheels and tyres that don’t fit my car so I am looking for either
a way to use them or selling them to replace with the correct wheels for the T5.

I have looked at PCD Adapters and the best quality ones seem to run out at about £150 per axel set so they are not a cheap alternative.

Suggestions please

I’d simply sell them and buy a set of winters with the correct PCD 👍

I use a set of hub adapters to convert bmw 5x120 to 5x112 which is what my newer bmw G series use. This lets me fit winter tyres and wheels i had from a previous car. As said above they were about £150, but they do work well.

Thanks for that. The experience of someone who has used these devices is just what I was looking for.
Would you mind sharing with me the make and where you got the adapters please?

Found it. It was ebay seller watfieldslimited , they were very helpful
Thanks for the information.
I ordered a set off 5*112 to 5*130 adapters from them. They had to make them especially as they are not a normal stock item. The adapters arrived within 3 days and did the job perfectly.
Thanks again.
