Ordered My Treg...

3383 Views 10 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Bolton Treggie
I've taken the plunge and ordered myself a Treg.

It's a 2.5 TDi SE manual in Shadow Blue with the Sunny Beige leather. I managed to get xenons, parking sensors and convenience pack too - and I've got a Parrot 3200 colour bluetooth kit and HarmonKardon Drive+Play to install when it finally gets here! Should be about 10-12 weeks

Anyway, one thing that caught my eye was the price. Mine is a company car (hence why I couldn't get the 3.0 TDi auto that I wanted - that's outside of my monthly lease budget
) and we outsource the procurement to a specialist firm that gets quotes from other lease companies so that my company gets the best deal. Why all this info you ask? Because I get to see the quote - and it has the purchase price that the lease company pays on it. The base list price of my car, without the xenons etc. for P11d purposes is ?31,654. The capital cost price quoted is ?25,537. That's about 19.5% discount

Thank you all for your warm welcome

The price is what my company (indirectly) pays - it's defo inc. VAT. My company isn't in the car trade so can't recover the VAT.

As to manual, nope, I'm not sure
I'd much rather a 3.0 TDi Auto but I can't get that at my grade - 2.5 TDi manuals only

Not even a 2.5TDi auto...???

Have you tried the "auto's will have better residuals" argument....???

I can have a TDi 2.5 manual, a TDi 2.5 SE manual (which is what I've gone for) or a TDi 2.5 auto. I weighed it up and decided the leather, satnav etc. was better for me than an auto. Most of my driving is motorway so I think it'll be OK...

dpeter, welcome to the forum and may you have many Touareg miles in front of you.

Just one question though, don't you have an opt out of the company car scheme? You will get absolutely pole axed by the tax man. (I take it you are in the UK)
