I don't want to tempt fate (or appear smug either), but if it will address some balance to the plethora of entries on this forum about glitches & real troubles I have to say I haven't experienced:
Excessive tye wear
Crabbing/hopping
Electronic problems
Noisy wind roar from driver's door/dropped hinges
Iffy leather stitching
Premature battery failure
Any oil consumption
Leaks
As a consequence I haven't had to experience dodgy dealer support, apathy from VW Lux, repeated dealer visits or fights to assert my rights.
In fact, I love my Treg, think is is the best car I have ever owned and hope long may it continue.
As I said at the start, I don't want to come across as smug, but I sincerely hope there are thousands of Treg owners in exactly the same situation as me.
If its any comfort, if we take the number of complaints on the board as whole certainly since I have been around on the on the board and the previous incarnations. It amounts to I think around 40 incidents of what I would call justifiable complaints not withstanding general gripes. I do think with a little more thought this is not a large number considering Touaregs have been selling at around 3000 per Ann. Mind you if its your vehicle then it puts different perspective on it. We have now 360 members and with a more considered approach I think we could present a more reasoned argument to Volkswagen. I am afraid just ranting and raving will not achieve very much...along with threats of various types. It mostly the dealers that are major cause for complaint over diagnosis.
Sorry about the preaching but even just to take the forum as a whole the ability to stick to subjects and create a thread that is informative without wandering into trivia. Pity the person coming to the board looking for help and having to wander all over the shop and everything being repeated again and again.
I love the community spirit that is here but we do need to be a little more disciplined I am trying to be constructive, if the board is going to survive long term it needs to adopt some aims and objectives.

Here Here,
I am one of the thousands of happy Treg owners.
This car is superb and has been trouble free for 23000miles (hope i'm not tempting fate), and I would buy another one.
Mine's just reached 40,000 miles and I love it. Probably the best car I've ever owned. Much better than the various Range Rovers and a Discovery that I have had in the past.
