Some information for you guys-

After having the dreaded oil cooler fail last friday and having my treg recovered to the dealer I was notified of a recall which was issued by VW only on Tuesday 27th March 2007. I'm not quite sure what its for but they need it for a day and it did have a long list of parts, I thinks its to do with the fuel hoses, but I may be wrong.

My Treg is a 2005 2.5TDI, but I believe all are affected. Will confirm what its for when mine goes in.

UPDATE

Spoke to VW UK after another problem with my Touareg!*! Airbag warning light, they told me of a 25 page "Campaign" effecting all Touaregs which they will be letting me know about on 12th April 2007. As I asked specifically what it was for, it seems to also include software updates.

Will update when I know!

If you look in the genral disscussion area for the recall listed 90d7 this tells you what s going on check my post I got a list of the items concerned from a friend in london but beware not all vehicles have to have the whole list and only certain chassis ranges are affected as the newer ones may well have diffrent manufactures of the affected parts
Got my Treg back from Richard Alexanders (Harrogate) having had;
New water pump
New Airbag wiring (had several warning lights on this over last year)
New fuel pipe
"Various" software upgrades.
Drove it 4 miles - then the brake assist and ESP warning lights came on - back to RA's who tell me it's a pressure sensor on / under the brake pedal - ? 170.00 to replace (the car is seventeen days out of warranty).....
Don't pay!!

It is a well known fault.

They should replace it free of charge if you push enough.

Good luck

Tom

Hi.
This is a very common problem which invariably shows up after a service, by any chance is it the first 20k sevice?. I bet they made a can bus softwrae upgrade to the brake management system.Push hard for a warranty replacement.

Hi Towser

I havehad the same problem twice within 2 weeks.

They did the 90d11 upgrade then the Brake assist - workshop light comes on, it took them 4 days in the workshop, tested the car for a day gave it back to me and pow! Brake assist workshop came back up again!!

At this moment it is in the dealership awaiting another look by the techy!

So don't pay!! I have told the local dealership about this website, do not pay!! it is a common fault that does not affect the cars braking, a friens is an engineer and tells me these cars have that many sensors that they conflict and play up regularly!!

Demand that this is free and speak to their customer services people

Hope this helps!

Darren
