Just to say that my V10 is now 3 years old and I know I am tempting fate here but the damned thing is going like a rocket. As most of you have read my somewhat difficult times in the year of delivery. I must say it is real pleasure to drive and it looks like staying for quite a while. For those of you who have had problems stick with it it really is quite something once you get the issues sorted. I now and again I drive it like it was stolen...The 28 MPG is really good overall long runs. I have on really long runs got over 30MPG.. We all moan like hell but is fairly rare to see that many long term owners. I am afraid I don't have anything moan about I feel really bad with not much to post about shame really. The Treg really is a great vehicle... 8) 8) 8)

Nice post all the same Pilgrim....

Since we have all the odds and sods fixed on ours it's amazing to drive. (transfer box, loss of electrics (short on the alternator or something)

I have yet to drive anything else that compares, it's just too good. And like you with the power under the bonnet, it's a scream... Can't hit those 30MPG figures tho....

Just glad you're still around.

My treg will be 4 in october. A record for me. I still really like the car, despite the numerous recalls and warranty work. I'm just waiting for the rear hatch rubber seal, and the sticky rear hatch handle to be sorted, and then I'll be a truly happy bunny.
I've done 40,000 mls now. What sort of mileage are other people doing at 3-4 years?

Mine will be 3 in September too. Still loving it! Just hitting 59k miles

Engine is now nice and loose, smooth (for a 2.5 oil burner
) and despite what some peeps say on here, it has plenty of power for me. Still looks tip top inside (despite the new upholstry of Burger King wrappers after all that motor way driving
)

So it looks the dogs, goes like stink on the motor way and steel feels like new

What more could I ask for? Well - apart from another 3 years warrantee and a 3.0 TDi engine

I just got a quote for the extended warranty on mine ?1645 for a year!!! dont think I'll bother, i'd be praying for somthing to go wrong for that price
The RAC do some thing for around ?700 which is the like for like VW one

This includes the road side breakdown too

Andy who has since move away to Audi used to have it with no probs

Mine has got 56k on the clock

Have taken out the Warranty Direct Platinum extended warranty (platinum will cover stepper motors etc) for ?430 including breakdown cover.

I hope it is as good as it reads..... or that I never need to use it.

I have had my V10 for a month now and still feel that every journey is a real treat, I have seen 30mpg on the motorway with the cruise set at 70mph (now that my tyres are at the correct pressure) sometimes I opt for 'comfort' setting on the motorway, and then hit 'sport' as I leave the slip road and find the twisties, it really makes a difference, I'm still addicted to the 866Nm at 3,000rpm from my newly remapped engine, it's blindingly fast! I can still get 24mpg while having fun on the back roads, what a car!
