Well after my 4x4 excursion I have been putting off getting the alloys refurnished due to a few gouges and scratches. One of the tyres sustained some damage recently and the others were not to far of the limit so I bit the bullet.

I also decided on a colour change from silver to Anthracite to be a little different and am very happy with them.

What do you think,

Here is a before shot

Top marks for actually using your Treg for what it was born to do!

Too many folk (myself included!) tend to spend time avoiding anything that will scratch or tarnish.

I'm trying to find a spare set of wheels that I can put some off-road tyres onto and use when I go shooting this season.

I prefer the silver finish I'm afraid!

I can see that the anthracite coordinates well with the colour of your car but think it is too dark and doesn't 'lift' the car as well as the silver does!

Cheers,
John

Thanks for the comments guys, It was a tough choice to play it safe and stay silver but I personally am very happy with the look it creates (it is also extremly easy to make the wheels look clean now to
). I appreciate it would not be everyones taste though

The Treg is a fantastic off road toy and to be honest I nearly went out and bought a new set of wheels to keep the old ones for off road but I also scratched the side of the car on the quite badly and had to buff through a good few layers of paint to fix it (see attacched pic) and am just to nervous to take it off road again.

If I didnt have so much money in it I really could be tempted not to worry about it being clean and do all the off road days I could as it really is fun

Re the hight, I am tempted to lower it but I do not want the car to look played about with, I feel the wheels could just about pass for original equipment but lowering it may be a little to much

Looks ok with the brighter treg colours I think. Where did you get your alloys refurbished and what was the damage? Did they offer a good service and most important of all would you recommend them? The info is useful to have on the forum.

Hi

I got them done at the The Wheel Specialist in Newcastle.

Here is a link - http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/Fil ... etails.php

The cost was ?430 inc VAT for 4 wheels and they were a really good outfit. I deal with motor traders every day for my job, these guys were very professional and the premises / workshop were imaculate. I would well recomend them and would use them again

IMO,wheels look great,a good colour combo.
I would like to take mine off road, but I've got too much money in it,

I used to take my Disco off road and despite being carefull got some nasty scratches.A guy I met whilst off roading had a Disco 3,and he would wrap it in heavy duty cling film before taking it off road.
Seemed to work well.
Where was the off road photo taken???

Good recommendation Stu - my mate needs the wheels on his Merc E Class doing and I've just suggested he goes to this company

No doubt I'll have to lug them over for him

Thanks for the comments guys,

The off road day was done with these guys, http://www.allterraintours.co.uk/

I arranged it via the Events section on here and they are a really friendly bunch, it was a great day and when the Treg is a bit older and I am less worried about it I have no doubt I will have another go at Off roading with it

Dents UK in Seven Kings Essex, are going to refurb my wheels (same type as yours), for ?250, i will take some before and after pictures.

With the darker colour IMHO the car needs to be much much lower to get the desired effect, I dont dislike the wheel colour but with normal ride height the silver looks better to me..sorry, I do like the colour of your car thou it is great.

It's not just you Toe rag - I can't see them either!
I think some pictures were lost when the forum software was updated but it might also be that the pictures were linked to an externally stored album that has since been deleted?!
