No pix yet, but just got confirmation yesterday that my new 3.0TDi should be on the production line next week, so fingers crossed for a speedy delivery (I really need it, the tyres on the current car are completely shagged!).

Lucky you!!

I can't wait to get that confirmation myself!!

How long ago was the order placed? (It'll help the pain of waiting if I have a rough idea of the time...)

I think it's been about 6-7 weeks since the factory accepted the order (they rejected it first time round due to a misunderstanding). But I think mine might have been rushed through. 10-14 weeks is the normal waiting time from order to delivery, so I'm told.

For your information mine was ordered via dealer mid february and I am informed it will be in the UK early next month and available for me to pick up from mid May.

By my calculations that's approximately 10 - 12 weeks from delivery.

I've gotten about 14k out of the new tyres, so about normal for a Treg. Not that I consider that any good....

Despite supposedly having a new stepper motor, transfer box etc at 15k miles, the tyres are showing the same uneven wear I had on the first set...

It really do not come down to the missing backseat, it come down to the word ..eh.."tax".
Since our cartax is as it is..the highest in Europe apprx 200% on factory price..(if you want to get wiser look at a danish used car pricelist on the internet..

So VW Denmark has to negotiate a price with Germany..and it has to be low..every word you say is fined with 200%..

So if you say ..ehh..Altheo wheels...You say..20 kilo Danish Crowns divede that with 11 and so on....so much for the EU Union

But the importer says..I will be the first in DK..and you will get the pictures including the old dog..and the little new one..which we will get in 70 days from now when he is 8 weeks old.

Update: 03/05/05

Just had an email from VW Luxury Cars to say my new Touareg is currently at 'Checkpoint 7' which apparently is good news as there are only 8 checkpoints in total!

Could this mean delivery soon!?!

Well the good news is that my new Touareg has been built and has left the factory!

The bad news is that it is now sat on a train waiting to be sent to the port and it may still be another three weeks before I take delivery.

Oh well, I know VW will do all they can to get it to me quickly. I was just never very good at the whole 'patience' thing...!

Exciting to know that it's built, though.

Matt,

Took nothing like that length of time for our V10 to arrive once complete.

You might be surprised

Good to hear you are at least updated regularly on your new arrival.

Since I ordered mine in February I have heard f**k all from my dealer, unless I have chased them.

Doesn't bode well for the future does it.

Why not give your dealer a call. They should be able to log in to the VW system and tell you where your car's at (might just be in production now).

Not to make you jealous or anything, but I just got an email to say that the ship carrying my car should be docking in Grimsby (they take the Tregs to all the nicest places) later today or tomorrow.

Getting excited now!

Just to bore you all a little further, the Touareg is now due for delivery at the dealer on Monday, with a handover set for Friday 20th May.
