Why are vans mainly white anyhow, is it to reflect the glorious UK summer sunshine :!: so that the van keeps cool?
Going off piste a bit but, surely modern vans have some sort of air conditioning don't they? and if so they could be black or another colour. I mean you can get showers,cookers, double bedrooms, tables, gas, elec, why not a choice of colour?

Still the pic looks good and it's always a great feeling getting off on holiday, unless the mother in law is tagging along.

Again, going slighty off piste and maybe for the jokes thread but I remember Bernard Manning saying that he bought his mother in law a dil*o and a pair of slippers for Christmas so that if she did not like the slippers she could go fnuck herself.

Not quite at the van stage yet, but will consider upon retirement, so I can sample all the best golf courses Europe has to offer. At this stage I'm wondering what are the advantages/disadbantages of a RV versus normal van (colour coordinated of course!)

Well, it's not so easy to pop to the village shop in an RV for starters.

Well its nice to see people taking an interest in caravans for a change, usually people just make jokes :roll:

The van is a 2006 Abbey Spectrum 540. I have no idea why it is white, and i agree that it would poss look good in black, certainly better than the Treg would look in white :shock: Some new caravans are now coming out in silver.

We travel from here in Somerset to the lake district or Cornwall and this year we are going to France for a couple of weeks. The Treg pulls it realy well. Everyone moans about being stuck behind caravans. With this car I often pull away from a junction and leave following cars behind. Its not caravans that slow down traffic its the way they are driven by people with no idea of what they are doing and with the wrong towing vehicle.

Right i'm off to find some black paint.

Nice set-up there Pete.....

Got a twin axle 6 berth ourselves.... the treg makes mincemeat of the devonshire hills....

It's the prunes in ford Escorts and the like that let us closet campers down.... (no pun intended, but I'm sure someone will pick up on the hipflygay comments again...
)

If only the sun would start to shine already.....

North Devon.... Lurrrrrrvly site.... We have a seasonal pitch, hence the TT parked up, as there's no need to tow the van there and back.... Towards the end of the season you get the site shared by only the 'hardcore' vanners...

We also have a caravan, hence the need for the 4x4. Ours is a Besssacar 640 cameo bought it last year, typical all that rain last year too

I must look up a photo somewhere and see if I can manage to post it :roll:
