i never got the option for the phone prep so will need a retro fit.

is there a bracket for installation to save screwing into the centre console?

if so where do i get it or is it readily available for the usual installers to get hold of?

My mobile phone fitter gets his brackets from 'Dashmount' - try http://www.dashmount.co.uk

It fits on the LH side of the Sat Nav unit and supports the holder for, in my case, a Nokia 6230. The in car system is also Bluetooth so don't need to put phone in holder all the time but it re-charges the battery when it is in the holder.

Related to this, I am coming round to the idea of fitting a bluetooth car kit in my new Treg (had a Parrot CK3100 in the old one, but I don't think it was ever installed all that well and used to cause interference with the car speakers).

Can anyone recommend a good nationwide (or local to Swindon) fitter?

Since I treated myself to a new Motorola V3 Black (nice piece of kit...), I'm thinking about getting a Motorola car kit, maybe the 850.

Guys, i have just had the new Nokia 610 installed (bluetooth) an di can recommend it. It is the new one that replaced the parrot (the parrot is not compatible with most phones) where as the new nokia 610 works with loads of phones and has voice dialling etc etc, retriving text messages. It has a small screen and looks neat when fitted. I had the screen mounte on the air vent on the right hand side of the driving position, a neat fitted microphone above my head on the centre light console and the controls fit neat next to my left leg on the centre console, with the wire neatly running off through the cigarrette tray! sorry to waffle but it looks good and works amazing.
The sound comes through my car speakers and automatically mutes the radio/CD upon making a call or receiving a call!

Beware the Nokia 610. You can only use Sim Access Profile enable bluetooth phone with this kit. It is not compatible with "normal" bluetooth phones. Unlike the Nokia 616 which is compatible with most bluetooth phones.

However these kits are far and away the best looking and classiest on the market see mine.....

Also see the Nokia web site they also put one in the Touareg....Nokia Linky

i will post a pic of mine but it looks the same as Stave's, only my screen is on the other side! it goes through your current speakers and costs about £250-£300 depending on where you get it from. It is a good kit tho, and i am really impressed with its functions, and most of all its small, neat and tidy!

yeah they do. but you are near to my area, i can give you the details of a guy who ordered it for me, and fitted it all for about £360! he comes out to you and has it all fitted in about 35mins! you ring him, tell him what you want and he will get the equipment and do the whole job!
The screw fixing is discreet and he fitted my screen to the top of the drivers side (right hand) air vent so that should i ever sell the vehicle without car kit it has not got any holes in the dash, or i could just buy a new air vent to replace the one with holes in it. If i knew how to add a pic to this site i would take a pic for you now and post it to show you what i mean.
