I have a 2004 V6 Treg and the tire pressure sensor has malfunctioned, causing the check engine light to come on. Has anyone figured out how to remove or disengage the tire pressure sensor without having to replace it? Thanks for any advice. Poway CA

This is a common fault on early Tregs and our friends across the pond in the US have posted extensively on their Club Touareg forum.

Their stock solution, rather than just replace the defective sensor, is to remove all 4 of the sensors !

It seems the operating life of the TPS is about 5 years, so no warranty fix, they are simple but expensive to replace.

Thanks Cass, that was the answer I was hoping for. Any advice on how to remove them? Is there an online resource with directions?
