I am pretty sure I know what this is, but I wanted a second opinion. I noticed the other day that when I pulled into the dual carriageway and give it full beans there was a distinct knocking coming from under my seat. It actually felt like one of the kids was kicking the back of my chair on the left side. But as I was alone in the car it can't be that! It stopped as soon as I eased of the throttle. Driving sensibly there is nothing, it is only under full throttle acceleration above 4k rpm, roughly, and at any speed, as soon as you are cruising, even at motorway speeds there is no noticeable indications anything is wrong.

I had a quick look under the car this evening and although I didn't see anything, I did note that the feeling I am getting is right around the back end of the gear box area. My assumption is that it is the propshaft bearing that is on its way out.

Would that be a safe assumption? Or is it likely to be something worse? I have heard that these are a fairy common issue. For reference the Treg is on roughly 105k miles.

Centre bearing.
Can be repaired for nothing using the Jimi Fix (spelt just like that) or the Viagra Fix will cost 80 eurines.

Southern Spain suspect propshaft Bearing Failure

Driving along today and I feel vibration through the centre rear of the car, within a couple of minutes the vibration turned to knocking. Only happens over 20mph. I'm suspecting Propshaft Bearing failure. I will try and get under the car for a look as soon as it's a bit cooler! Long shot but is...

Right,
I managed to get the bearing fixed at the weekend using the 16mm hose method. It appears to have done the job, hard to tell if I can detect any vibrations as the roads in Scotland are so shit.

What I didn't do was re-grease the bearing. I couldn't see clearly how to get the seal out and looks like I can only get access to one side. Does anyone have any tips or trick as to how to go about re-greasing this?

Syringe and needle under the lip of the bearing seal to inject fresh grease. Just need to make sure you use a similar type of grease to what the bearing was originally lubricated with to avoid any incompatibility in the formulations

Depends on who supplied the bearing, It should have some makers marks on it. Probably *** or SKF. Also probably a lithium soap based grease.
