HI all

I am new to the touareg world so I am still learning,

but something strange happened to me, my remote (support keyless entree) it's not functioning properly when it comes to keyless entree function it used to work just perfect today after someone drove my car while the key was in pocket (away from the car) I couldn't use the small black button on the door to lock the doors nor the keyless entree but the keyless ignition is working (the start button)
can any one help with this please.

it's freaking me out.

Thank you
hope to hear from you.

This happens when the key out range, at least I think that's what you mean, if the key is out of range " key not found " comes up on the MFD. Essentially the whole process needs to start again. Switch off and restart this resets make sure the the key is in range ie not shielded by coins or phone or anything else. If all else fails put the key in the ignition and start and then turn off, this will get the cycle of events back on track...

I have tried to use the key for ignition and and back off again ,,the MFD stoped to display "key not found" but the keyless entry still not functioning.

the door lock buttons on the door handle from out side is not working as well.and the remote working but not very nice you have to push the button to unlock at least two times to let the car respond.

Is there anyway I can reset the setting back so everything will work like b4?

My car is Touareg 2004 V6 3.2Liter
It may be the battery in the key is defunct I can't remember the whether it is a CR2020 or 2016 any way it is in the manual. However if the car starts keyless then it is recognising the presence of the key????
You should only need to touch the button on the door once if you do it twice in succession it will immobilise the anti theft internal alarm. <_<

Tell me more!

I sometimes press the key twice to open and/or close just to be able to open the boot as well as the doors.

Must read the manual better and understand how to open and close or else the alarm will probably not be set properly.

Rob
What I meant was the movement sensor inside the vehicle, the normal alarm on the car is not affected. As for the buttons on the doors, any button of any of the doors will close and lock the vehicle. I am still puzzled re the remote button on the key fob does not work. If that is what is happening how far away are you when you try to lock the vehicle as you do need to be around two metres away sometimes less. the range is very limited..... or it must be the battery in the key fob

Are the windows tinted with film i.e. not factory tints!! That caused me problems with the remote on a Mitsubishi Shogun :angry2:
I was also having the odd problem with the "key not found" warning on the treg, but a new battery in the remote sorted that out

the car would start keyless but the entry still not working ,, it might be the key battry but there is something strange the buttons on the door wouldn't work properly I know the battry problem contribute alot to this but, why sometimes the buttons would work if I press it twice?! (that means the inside sensore will not detect the movment inside the car)

I will try to look for the battry online cuz now if I am away from the vehicle one meter the remote wouldn't work unless I keep pressing more than one time.

what is the exact battry for the treg remote?

just two remarks:

- if you have a lot of coins or a handy in your pocket --> it might cause an error

- VW has experienced some problems with the sensors in the doors - ask a technician
to check them.

I can't stop myself. It is the thought of driving my Treg that makes me do it!!!!

I think that I will check the dealership b4 I change the battry in the remote control,

is it true that VW after some time started to fall apart? and you will expierence more problem by the time??
This is the 1st week of taking the car to work, and when I go through the car park barrier (with a swipe card), I get "Key Not Found" in the main display.

Obviously a conflict with frequencies, but does anyone have a more technical explanation? Not causing any problems, more of a curiosity

Cheers,

Mark.
Nine times out ten "key not found" is caused by shielding either by coins or mobile phone. Sometimes even by the body, mine I mean, if you are siting in the vehicle, merely in the trouser pocket in crease of the leg and the torso can cause the signal to be interrupted. If the battery is low it will pick up in the vehicle but will not outside the vehicle..
