Tonight, just decided on taking the scenic route as needing relaxing drive home with wife and child when pulling out onto busy roundabout, Pop ! Very loud Pop in fact and no power, Rover and Volvo bearing down on me, only option but to pull over. Hugh blackish sort of plume of smoke and goodnight Touareg. Recovery man very nice but not quite enough sympathetic as I know not covered by warranty (70k miles you see). Any way will be sent to Kidlington tomorrow for TLC, oh why oh why didn't anyone say - hey you're not covered any more because you like driving your shiny black treg too much?? I'll let you know the damage shortly.

Well actually it's not that bad...I'm glad to say it's back and as good as new. Apparently it was the Inlet hose had come off the Turbo and caused a back-fire, hence loud pop and black smoke. Graham at Kidlington said he'd never had to replace a Turbo (Not sure if he meant on Toureag or any VW but in any case reassuring). So ?205 inc Vat. But he did say there's no reason why it couldn't happen to others and hinted it was perhaps suspicious why they had the hose in stock.....

Great to hear your back on the road without any major work needed , price not too bad...i suppose could have been much worse...
