.........is the warning message I am getting

I have had it into a local independant today who can't find any evidence of any leaks (purple coolant very visible) and so has ordered a new coolant tank on the basis of suspecting a faulty sensor.

Any similar experiences out there

If the header tank is full then chances are it is contamination in the ?level switch? inside the tank - I had this on my first one and also on my current one after the dealer had done some work to cure a leak..). Changing the header tank fixed the warning both times.

If the water is escaping without a trace it could be a problem with the EGR Cooler Valve (the Exhaust Recirculation Valve is water cooled and the coolant can leak into the exhaust).

I hope this helps.

Thanks Cas

I've had the header tank replaced and solved the problem, but..........

have been advised the contamination could be due to water pump problem which, due to its location, is an engine out job

I'll keep a check on things for the time being.
