Do you know of a good Independent Garage who can service Tregs?
Post 'em on this thread
If you can possibly provide the following:

Clean efficient and helpful he is a VW Master Technician and worked on Tregs since the first appeared.
I can recommend Mastertechs in Morden, I have used them for 5 years with my Audi S6 Avant (Now on Autotrader looking for a new home as my new baby is here) and they are all Ex Audi / VW guys. They have been brilliant. I have now bought a V10 and shall certainly be taking it to them. I have rung them and even though I don't think they have seen many V10s I trust them and they are very reasonable. I shall certainly report more when they have carried out work on the vehicle which won't be in too distance future!!
I can recommend these guys in Welwyn Garden City, they have at least one VAG Master Technician in the workshop:

Steering and alignment problem on T3 quickly and successfully resolved after both VW Specialist Technician and Dealers advised that a misaligned steering wheel and drift / veer to the left was a Touareg characteristic.
VW trained and experienced Touareg Technicians.
VASS Specialist nr Coventry. Took my Treg for a service there shortly after buying it and was immediately impressed with their honesty and knowledge. You get a full Vagcom printout with every service and mini valet too. Run by a couple of ex Audi techs who know their stuff, they are experienced on Tregs & fully trained and experienced on Q7's
Service prices are roughly £150 for interim and £250 for full service on the Treg, don't know their hourly rate though.
They also changed my Vagcom settings to allow my iPhone to work with the VW phone system, free of charge which was a nice gesture.
Check them out on the Good Garage Scheme website, they have an excellent rep.

I wouldn't go anywhere near SWIFT in Newcastle, he said he could repair my propshaft bearing,
he had it for months and it wouldn't start in the end,he locked himself out of it and broke the
back light to get in, then he said he couldn't repair it cos it was crimped and difficult, so he
sent the shaft to the Guy that I originally told him about in Crewe who advertises the bearing on
Ebay, all to my cost, bad tempered and disgusting service.^ months ago I had an oil change only
to find out that he hadn't replaced the shield under the engine, now I don't have one !!!! he's
an idiot
He had the car for months? Surely you asked for it back if he said he couldn't fix it?
He never rang you to ask you for a spare key, and instead decided to smash something and then refuse to fix it?
Was this months ago that you got the oil change that you talk about before, or after, him providing the disgusting service?
I will very much stand corrected if I am wrong, but your posts smacks of a garage googling competitors names and slating them on websites with false information. I only say this because I have had it done to me, and ended up in court, and I won!

So far they have replaced my Tandem Pump back in April without removing the engine. Unit price £457.22. Labour 13.5 hours @ £50.00 Total £1,132.22 + VAT
They did say that they never wanted to see another tandem pump job though, their arms were fairly well scratched up from reaching down the back of the engine.
Yesterday they replaced my propshaft bearing. Unit price £59.45. Labour 2 hours @ £49.50 Total £158.45 + VAT
Bearing in mind that both jobs were done under warranty, the first using the £2,000 limited warranty with Customer Protect who they use on their second hand car sales and were therefore able to deal with without me having to pay anything up front.
The second was done under my Warranty direct policy which meant I had to pay up front and claim the money back.
They are Audi and VW specialists and use genuine parts. If these are the prices they give for warranty work then I can't recommend them enough.

I took my A6 All road there for years before buying the Treg. They only used genuine VW parts and the labour cost is 1/2 the dealer cost but what's most important is they tell you the truth and you can have a conversation about your car rather than having to navigate through different levels of ignorance from the front desk until you get to speak to your "customer service interface user representative operative"
These guys have lots of loyal West London customers who could I am sure easily afford to go to a dealer and not even notice they were getting ripped off - but the service is A1.
The owner is sound and has a V10 so he knows what he's on about. They will always repairs something rather than replace it if they can. I remember once they saved me £000's by mending a broken wire on a headlamp fitting rather than replace the whole unit.
Swift at Westerhope Newcastle. Barry Rate 49.50 + vat
Time before last did have car for three weeks trying to find current draw fault. Did find it eventually and replaced kessy unit. Last visit in Monday morning rang to say suspension fault fixed but would' like to keep car overnight to check no leakage.. Had air bag wiring fault done today and picked up car 4 hours later...
I`ve totally lost confidence in VW Altrincham- reasons why:
1. quoted £2500 to repair air con. Engine out and new compressor-NO THANK YOU
I had a new battery fitted a few months later and Hey Presto air con worked fine
2. quoted £1400 for new prop shaft - "comes in one piece , can`t just get bearing" they said
I sourced Fireow in Holmes Chapel who WILL repair or supply refurbished @ £175 fitted
3 quoted £350 to sort out non opening tailgate - smash rear light cluster etc
Job done ( new solenoid) for £50 - no smashed tail light!
4 quoted £450 for new wheel bearing
I got the job done for £150.00
Now I use VAG TECHNIK independent in Eccles 0161 707 2282
Why would anyone smash the rear light cluster to manually release the tailgate if you have the keys to the car and can climb into the back to pull off the rear light cover to access the manual toggle?
And VW dealers only fit new prop shafts - they won't change the bearing - but the price should be just over £1,000.
Andy and Mark VW/Audi master tech trained and have worked on Tregs since their launch.
They have full vagcom setup.
very competitive labour rates.
They prefer to fit genuine parts, unless you state other wise.
most importantly they have never let me down or ripped me off!!
Very friendly knowledgeable chaps
The business, which has just been expanded to include a workshop in the Leeds area, is owned by partners Russ Stanley, & Gareth Merrick (Top blokes).
Gareth is the VW Master Technician, & has a wealth of knowledge on all things Touareg.
I have not had any major work done there yet (Thank god), but Gareth tells me they have repaired a good number of Prop shafts & gear boxes with Valve Chest problems.
In September 2016 I had a service, which included the following...
One in Kearsely outskirts of Bolton, just other side of Swinton, Manchester. J14 off the M60 at the Robin Hood pub, follow to Kearsley. Or from the A666, come off for Kearsley there. I still know them as Clifton Autos:
Guys, Anyone recomend one in South East Essex, near to Southend, anyone have experiance of P Breading Motor Services Ltd, they are listed as VW/VAG independants.
Thanks
Can’t recommend these guys enough. Service is and attitude is excellent. Labour is very reasonable at £45ph. Qualified VAG and all the right equipment. https://www.autoservicesnw.co.uk/
