Afternoon all,

Turns out my last trip off road didn't leave the Touareg unharmed, I noticed today that one of the metal bands had split and is hanging down. I have found used replacement guards on line, bit as my guard is not damaged I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to just get a new band without replacing the whole part. (7L0-201-974-B).

If you haven't lost any of it you could get the strap welded/patched maybe?

I had these go on my Audi A4 B5 1.9 Tdi Avant...

I acquired some aviation grade aluminium strips and manhandled it to the near correct shape. Been on the car now for about 11 years and still like new, and, NO RUST.... well there wouldn't be would there!!

Don't have to worry about the same issue again...

That's a good idea. I might look into that. The underside of my Treg is looking pretty crusty. I think I will need to find some time this summer and get under there with a wire brush and some rust converter and waxoyl or similar.
