Found a new button today (well two actually).
On the back of the steering wheel.
Right hand side turns the instrument lights off ???
Left hand one supposedly warms the steering wheel !!
(Yes I now I should read my manual thoroughly)
Thing is, my little pinkies don't feel any benifit from the so called heated steering wheel.

The ride is a 2.5 sport diesel. Is it just not posh enough to warrant the extra wirring or do I have a fault?

Please give me the benifit of your infinit wisdom chaps.... Ta

Not a UK Treg option...
SWMBO wanted this and we nearly had an X3 as it does feature this option in the UK.

So - no fault!

Got to look at the rest before picking the best

Actually only wanted about a 2.0 d with 4wd capability when I first started looking, then VW brought our the SE versions of the 2.5 for a little more that a specced-up X3, then we tried the V6 TDi...and the rest is history

The two little buttons on the back of the steering: the left one turns the steering wheels control lights on and off when the sidelights/headlamps are on, no problem.

The right one is apparently for the heated steering wheel: has anybody got to the botttom of whether it is possible to activate this without major expense if most of the loom and bits are in place: what is not connected in the UK??

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks, Total (Silver Blue V10)

You'll find that you only have the button and nothing else to keep you fingers warm so you'd require a new steering wheel just to start with, probably cheaper to buy a pair of gloves...
given the price of all the bits you'd need its probably cheaper to employ someone to sit in the passenger seat and blow warm air on your fingers
