Can anyone explain why my local VW dealer isn't allowed to do any warranty work on the treg,but still they say that they can service it !!

I went in a couple of days ago and the woman at the desk couldn't even spell the name of the car....didn't fill me with confidence :shock:

Not all dealers have the ramps/lifts that will take the weight of the Treg, plus Treg techs have extra training. I suppose routine servicing doesn't require ramps and the jobs carried out are relatively simple. Warranty work could be more complicated.

I think VW has a limit on the amount/vlaue of warranty work that a non-Luxury dealer can do.

Last year I had an oil leak- my local dealer looked at the car and explained they they had to get prior approval from VW as it could have been a big job- VW gave them the go-ahead and after 3 days in the shop all was well.

I would ask to talk with your local Service manage4r and get him to call VW.
