Visited the above named dealer today and had an excellent test drive in a 3 lit TDI V6. The service was excellent. We turned up, they took a copy of my driving licence, they gave me the keys and off we went for a full hour!

All other dealers (not VW) we have insisted on travelling with us. I thought this was very good to trust us, and we could take our own time to insepect the car.

What does everyone think of the 3lit TDI V6? I am thinking of SE trim...

Gilbert Lawton in Manchester did the same for me, had a 3.0 TDI Altitude for about 4 hours. I did have to leave the keys for my Audi S4 with them while I had it though. Bonus was that they washed the Audi for me. When I came back I would DEFINITELY have bought the fantastic looking S4 off the forecourt - amazing how good cars look under those blue tinged floodlights! They even apologised for not vacuuming the interior properly.

Am having a 3.0 TDI from another dealer, but only because I am getting a great deal through my brother in law. If I wasn't getting that, I'd be buying one from GL. The Treg man is called Ben Egerton, seems like an OK sort.

For me, the best and most suited engine for the Treg. I know I am biased as it is what i drive, but I reached that conclusion after much trial & testing and before I handed over my hard-earned cash.

I briefly had two 2.5TDIs before changing to my current 3.0TDI which is great- the engine has plenty of power (it is great away from traffic lights against GTIs etc
) yet gives reasonable economy (about 2 mpg less than the 2.5TDI).
Enjoy.
