Coolant temp sensor location

Hi all

Looking for a kind soul to provide a picture of the locations of the 2 temp sensors on an R 5, which I propose to change as the fans stay on when the vehicle is switched on but not running - which I understand from reading around the subject is likely caused by duff sensors. If anyone knows whether changing both is necessary, and how to, that would also be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

7p is a chassis designation not an engine code.
I assumed that you have a 3.0tdi engine with a CAS(x) or CVV(x) code which is the diagram posted.
It has a fairly complicated Map controlled split cooling system.
Sensor 3 in your scan report I believe to be the one in the front of the engine block.

ok do you know where it is on the front
I do. It's exactly where it's shown in the diagram I've posted.
Show that to your mechanic, if he can't find it you should probably get another mechanic, I really can't help you anymore.
Good luck..
