The service Richard and his team give is fanatastic and they know just how to deal with fickle customers!!

They managed to get my car in with zero notice for an owner induced fault and also managed to service the car at the same time.

Absolutely spot on!!

Thankyou Richard, I hope you still read this site.

Hi everybody,

This is my first post (hope I got it right!). Have been lurking on this site for months but felt obliged to post today. My V10 went in for some warranty work at Colbornes yesterday (sunroof leak+mist in taillight) and I mentioned in passing I thought there were some vibrations after cold start.

Anyway, when I called Roger the new luxury manager there today to see how they were getting on, he told me they had diagnosed a transfer box problem, done the software upgrade and since the problem had caused uneven tyre wear, replaced my 4 tyres with new Pirellis.

I know this is a known fault but that some owners reported in this forum they had massive problems getting this to be accepted under warranty by VW so I thought I would highlight the excellent job at Colbornes.

Great service really! java script:emoticon('',%20'smid_23')

welcome to the forum - can I ask what mileage you have done?

Thanks

Kaine
A little miffed when I see this stuff, since mine has just been into Colbournes and I had a fight on my hands with transfer box and tyre wear...

Tyre wear is my issue, not transfer box as I have uneven wear after 5k miles....

And both front doors had dropped - again I had to pay the bill since this was an 'adjustment' not a part failure..... Both doors drop in 2 years.. and it's not a part failure?

I am bemused by the roller coaster service levels of dealers...

But I have to agree Colbournes is far better than Breeze Southampton...

I've said before and I'll say again.. I love the treg, it's by far the best thing I've driven in this league.. was out in a friends Disco 2 yesterday... OMG, such a vast difference of quality... I just wish VW would do something about levels of service....

I've said it before I'll say it again

The only thing that would kill off the Treg is nothing to do with the car, which is a pure belter

It is the crap roller coaster after sales service that VW dealerships seem to think is acceptable for a car costing between 30 and 60k

If half the problems people experience had been dealt with in a consistent way, I doubt there'd be posts like this because if they're dealt with quickly, with no fuss and to everyones satisfaction, a negative can actually be turned into a positive

But VW are, it appears, quite happy to let people driving one of their flagship cars trickle away

Look at all the ex-VW owners on here - I would guess about 80% of the defections from the Treg occured due to unsatisfactory resolution of issues (Scottie, Dcirulis etc)

Do VW care?

Doubt it (well, except for a few good dealerships who still know something about customer service)

VW should start whipping their network into shape, and at least get some consistency

Others seem to have managed it, AND it should be expected in this price range

happy friday!!

Absolutely agree bad dealers are fouling up the system in addition not enough effort is is going into diagnosis. When I went to Dresden I brought this very subject up with the CEO. When I got back I had a somewhat worried VW person asking what is wrong with my car nothing was wrong at that time with the car but of personnel within the VW UK and the garage network. My absolute dissatisfaction with the replies from Mr Willis.
Needless to say unless there is major change I shall not be spending my money on another VW based car. Having been a bit harsh in my comments, my local dealer has been very good but I am not always able to use them and to have to rely on one good dealer is not good enough. "Luxury car service a joke"
thanks - quite a few miles until the problem surfaced then
Yes - although I did buy the car second hand and the tyres looked still good but not brand new. So I am not 100% sure whether the tyres they replaced just were the original ones, or already a second set.

My Treg came from Colbornes and all I can say is even after all the problems with it they have been fantastic - They pick it up from my home and leave me another Treg clean my car and bring it back, even washed my wife's Audi when we went for a test drive!

Roger (now left replaced by Danny (very helpful)) managed to have an 'accident' in my treg with a truck and they were fantastic all repaired very fast, all valeted and returned with a bottle of Veuve!!

So glad I went there and will use them all the time!
