I can recommend Citygate Chalfont. In fact, I got the recommendation from others on this site (so thanks again to Matt for the site) after being messed about by the now infamous
Ridgeway Reading (my nearest dealer), about whom we have heard numerous horror stories on this site. They apparently didn't want to sell me a new car, so that was their loss. Anyway, I found Citygate to be very good. I have yet to experience their service department, but other reports posted previously here lead me to believe that I won't be disappointed. Of course, they aren't my nearest dealer but I don't mind travelling a little further for decent service.

Cheers,

I have nothing put praise for the whole experience... on collecting the car it was aprked in the showroom... to prevent the bad weather getting to it before my first drive..... any little niggles were sorted there and then..... Peter Collins.... Lux Car Manager.... well.... ex Lux Car Manager...... offered an A1 service and to my disbelief is no longer with them.... Apparently they currently dont have a Lux Car Manager and any dealings for the near future are directly with the Retail Sales Manager...... I hope he can fill an accomplished pair of shoes....

I was amazed to hear that VW Motorworld in Kidlington have done the same thing. Guy Shaw has been taken off purely Touareg and Phaeton sales and put across all models. Such a short-sighted move given how much business Motorworld could pick up from crap dealers like Ridgeway...

New to the forum, but just wanted to add my 2 pence worth.
Bought my used V6 from Citygate about 6 weeks ago, and have to say that in general the standard of customer care was appalling. The (now ex) Luxury Car manager didn't seem particularly interested. Phone calls never got returned and he was never available. A total lack of communication on there part really.

When I got the car, the spare keys were missing, which he was supposed to order for me.

So I phone up yesterday, to be told that he is no longer with them, and has been gone about 5 weeks. When someone rang back, don't know what his title is, I mention that the Lux Manager didn't mention he was leaving, I get told that he probably didn't know he was leaving at the time.!!!

Needless to say, my spare keys hadn't been ordered, and the letter I needed from VW to confirm my car has a Thatcham Category Immobiliser to satisfy my insurance company (Direct Line) hadn't been arranged.

I wait to see if it gets sorted now.

Right - sorry, that's my whingeing done.

P.S. I LOVE the car.
