Ouch.. hopefully that doesn't look too serious. Bonnet has done what it's meant to and the charges, actuators (whatever they're called) have popped it up but the wing and bonnet look intact.

So the Merc pulled out the side road in front of you?

I wonder why the plod don't try to prosecute people who cause accidents like this. Looks like they were not driving with due care and attention.

Here's hoping there's nothing structural and it can be repaired quickly for you.

Yeah, out straight in front. Bonnet is ok but wing is twisted.
What a tw4t!
I hope the front chassis leg is ok. There's so much sacrificial stuff, I'm sure it looks far worse than it is

Consider using VW Ensurance, it's free, they'll ensure it's repaired to VW specifications and provide a like-for-like courtesy car - may not be a Touareg, I got a choice of M-B GLE or Audi Q7.

Hire car arrived, drove to work which is 4.4 miles away.

car recorded 1.5 miles. It’s obviously got a cheat device fitted. It’s not off one of the major players in the hire business.

To say I’m furious is an understatement

It’s a device that plugs into the rear of the speedo and records less miles. Car says it’s done 20k, its’ll be more like 60ish

I did. Everyone stopped being interested all of a sudden!

car is being repaired with a bill of £17500 for repairs, plus whatever they find along the way.
