Hello

I've finally got round to getting a cable to hook my iPod up to my auxillary input and that works a treat.

One thing I noticed though is that when I first chose 'AUX' I was given the option of either just audio, or audio and video. Am I going bonkers or are there just the right and left audio input connectors in the arm rest.... where's the video connector?

Cheers

The video is an optional extra, I think.

I am going to have my roof mount dvd replaced sometime next week, one of the things i have asked for is to be able to pipe it thru to the Aux, if they manage to do it i will ask them how they did it and let you know.

Hey guys I would be very interested to know how to get the video through to the front screen if you have not got the optional video in socket. I asked at the dealer but got a blank look. I wanted to put my iPod video through the front screen.

Had the roof mount replaced a couple weeks back, it has an FM transmitter built in to play thru the car radio.
Doesn't sound to bad for what it is.

Armrest connections are audio only.
You need a multimedia adaptor for the MFD and these are currently available on fleabay
Search for "AV Multimedia Interface Adapter for VW MFD2 RNS2 "

You can buy an ipod data cable which will ipod output to 3 phono sockets as input to the interface.
(2 are audio L/R and third is video)

If anyone wants the pin outs for the MFD as well, they are below.
Note the video switch signal connection, which when it has a 12v +ve supply should allow video to be visible whilst on the move (if you are that stupid.....)
