I managed 114mph when I'd done 10,000 miles and engine isn't chipped

Engine is much looser now after 26k - so I suspect it would reach that sort of speed no problems

I was gonna ask other 2.5 owners - Does your motor prefer the cold weather?

Just recently during the cold weather my 2.5 has been going like a rocket (or as much of a rocket as a 2.5 can be) and actually feels - dare I say it - fast!

I'm loving my Treg more and more

no my 2.5 in the cold feels like an old dog with three legs

a bit slugish really

but i guess if it ran for 5 minutes or so before driving it would feel better

Yours is like a dog with 3 legs, mine is like a dog with 2 d*cks

I only ask because I'm trying to work out if the Treg is like my old Beetle ie. it hated the warm (sluggish and flat or buggish and fat on a hot day - delete as appropriate) but loved the cold and went like the clappers in winter.........Perhaps it's just coincidence.......

Whatever, ain't complaining

Wonder what it will be like at -20c

Top effort. The fuel guage looks a little blurred too... must have been moving quickly too!!!

My bike loves cold weather, runs much quicker & smoother with all that cold air being gulped in there. Funnily enough, I've had 166 mph out of it on the (German) A1 coming back from the Nurburgring in May this year. All good fun, but there's always something quicker out there!

...its one of those false economies...fill the tank up on mainland Europe and you suddenly don't worry so much about fuel economy...still managed 30.1 mpg average from Essen to Amsterdam, although figures possibly distorted slightly by the possible inclusion of a Tunit.

My old unit made the MFD readings absolute bollox - readings were usually 8 mpg generous.

Coming back from Germany maybe, but which side of the drink was you when you took the picy ?
Is that a sunny reflection on your speedo or could it possibly be the wrong type of camera flash.

Oh silly me of course not … any long stretches of road we ever had have long been broken up with roundabouts every 100 yards now.

And just what do you mean the wind was against you ! 120 mph I bet it was against you…. YOU AND THE SEAT I bet your bum cheeks were clenched so tight, you whistled down the wind.

I was trying quite hard, but I think the Treg was still managing to burn gas quicker than me
