Drove out to Austria for a two week ski trip in our 2007 T2.
A 2k mile round trip and reached 150k miles on the way there.
I don’t think there are many cars around that would be as comfortable and make you feel reasonably fresh after a long drive.
Average 31 mpg door to door.
Swirl flaps did put the engine light on occasionally and the steering angle sensor wouldn’t stay calibrated but both these faults didn’t cause any problems.
It loved the German autobahns and French toll roads which had very little traffic. 130 kph on cruise for miles.
An old car with some miles on it but it did us proud.

Also drove over to Austria (Ischgl) from NW England in March. T4 (2016) R-Line Plus but with winter Alloys and Tyres. 4 blokes, Ski's, Boards and gear in Roof Box and Boot. Car never missed a beat 2000miles return. Drove via France, Belgium, Luxembourg (for cheaper fuel) Germany and into Austria. Great trip and hopefully will do the same again next year. Knocks spots off getting shafted at manchester airport. 😀

We really enjoyed the drive over and will certainly do it again.
Ischgl is a great resort. Late season skiing very good.
