Has anyone had Atheo alloys refurbed?

It looks to me that it might be difficult to match the finish.

thanks

Put a call into the Luxury sales team at Heritage Bristol. They mentioned to me when I was going through the sales process that it's difficult to find people to do it because of the finish, but they had tracked down a company (somewhere near Birmingham I think) that will do it.

It depends on how badly damaged they are as to what needs to be done. I damaged my Phaeton wheels and I repaired those, but it is a time consuming job. Getting the correct colour is a major issue I managed to mix a collection of paints to get near the right colour. I think the manufacturer of the right paint is Wurth.

I think when replacing the tyres it may worth considering getting a tyre with a 'chine' on the tyre. This is a raised band round the tyre which holds the wheel away from the kerb.

Thanks for the info guys. I will put a call into Luxury support for the tel. number, as it will be someone else who will be paying for the damage :angry2: but thats another story.

cheers

Post the results, please. I just had an incident getting into a ridiculously tight car park. Only the one wheel scraped, but still pissed off.....
Mine where refurbed when i got the treg

very good job

by VW Nott,s

Will try and find out who did them

Down side was the car was on axle stands for a couple of days
There's a chap in Swansea comes highly recommended for his work on alloys in general......if you have no luck elsewhere I can see if I can get some details...

can they do Atheos though? There are many alloy wheel repairers, but most won't touch Atheos because of the finish
Thanks again for the replies, however I am now getting them replaced under warranty due to slight bubbling
corrosion towards the inside of the spokes.

cheers

  good spot!!
That's good news - I've been talking to my dealer about exactly the same thing, but didn't want to post until I knew the outcome.

Now I know your news, no reason for them not to do it for me too!

Do yours look like my photo below? All four wheels seem to be effected...
Yes, that pic shows the same corrosion.

I did have to point it out to the warranty guy though

you'll find these types of claims are readibly accepted by the manufacturers - since they aren't assembly defects, then VW can just replace the parts and bill the supplier.
Hi, just an update. VW have replacedd all 4 alloys & the dealer fitted some new Michelins as well.

note to Mods - it might be better to put this thread in the Bugs section.

Just heard from my dealer that they expect to process my claim in the next 48 hours. They don't see a problem with getting the new wheels sorted.
Well, nearly a month on and still no news from VW on my new wheels.

VERY disappointing and not doing my views on Motorworld Kidlington any good....
