Just been quoted ?271 to change the front brake pads on my 4.2. Yowzers! GSF do them for ?69+VAT (EBC red stuff pads seem to be approx. ?150). Been reading previous posts which suggest I've got a bit of life left even when the warning light comes on, but does anyone have experience of the GSF pads or fitting them (together with new sensors?). Thanks
Using VW parts I today changed the pads on my 3.0 TDi, the pad wear indicator came on 1200 miles ago.... and i'd say there was safely another 1500 - 2000 miles left on the old pads... there was i'd say at least 10% of the new pad thickness left on the old ones.... but I was sick of seeing the orange light on the dash so changed them anyway..... easy job, 25 mins per side... I would of taken pics along the way but was rushing as the weather was not looking promising.... I'm no car techie, so if i can do it them anyone can.....

I managed to source my pads and sensors for ?120 quid.....

Appreciate this is a r e a l l y old post. Is there any way of switching the pad indicator light off - wither through a menu or removing a fuse?

For some reason I'm not getting the headline or responses on this thread

Plenty of other threads about replacing brake pads but AFAIK, the brake pad warning light won't go off unless you replace the pads/sensors

Having read your other thread, I'm presuming you have an imminent MOT
